Magic Editor

The Magic Editor cuts your recording for you. It listens to what you say, drops the stumbles, retakes and dead air, and keeps the good takes — then adds your hook and subtitles in your Trademark Look.

You don't operate it. You upload a recording, pick what you want made, and check back a few minutes later.

What it can make

• One video from your recording — portrait for reels, shorts and TikTok.
• A long-form video — landscape, for YouTube.
• Clips — a set of clip suggestions from a longer recording. You pick the ones you want in the app.

Recordings can be MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM. If you upload a mix of portrait and landscape files, you choose the shape of the result.

Settings

Found under Settings → Magic Editor. They apply to every new edit.

Pauses. How much quiet time stays between spoken phrases, from 0.15 to 1.5 seconds. Shorter feels punchier; longer feels calmer. Default is half a second.

Transitions. How long one moment blends into the next, from a hard cut (0 seconds) to a full second. Default is 0.2 seconds.

Show Instagram preview. Shows what your video looks like inside the Instagram app while you review it, so you can see what the interface covers.

Per-video settings

Each video has its own options in the panel next to it:

Sound. Original leaves it as recorded. Clean reduces background noise. Enhance brings out your voice.

Show subtitles and Show Instagram preview can be switched off for one video without changing your defaults.

When you change a setting later

Videos that were edited before the change keep their old timing. Open one and you'll see "This video isn't using your latest Magic Editor settings" with an Update button; press it to re-cut with the new settings. Nothing changes until you do.

Locked videos

Once a video is scheduled or published it's locked. To change it, make a copy — in the app or by asking your assistant — and work on the copy.
